First post but already started

Ok, this is a bit late seeing I have already started a while ago but decided to start blogging my progress as well. I am attempting to build the NSW Main South line from Junee to Albury. Trying to make it as it was like in the 1980s, but may be too hard. Here's the summary to date:
  • Mapped out the main points and lines in Google maps, exported out and imported into TS 2014. The actual lines haven't really changed too much since the 80's, mainly the extra passing loops and taking out sidings here and there etc.
  • DEM data downloaded and made available in TS2014.
  • DEM data imported into route for Junee and branch all the way to The Rock. Issue around Shepherds Siding and crashes TS 2014. Skipped this part and just raised the terrain for the moment to lay the track. Also issue around the branch from The Rock. Starting to get annoying here.
  • No scenery done or anything other than bare track. Didn't care if it was above the ground or not at the moment.
  • Using Oxford Oily track as main track type for this route. All turnouts from the main line are automatic. All turnouts and switches from non-Main line track are manual. Haven't changed any speed limits yet.
  • Track laid in Junee and branch to Old Junee - don't like it too much at the moment as I it was my first attempt and didn't really know what I was doing. May redo it.
  • Track laid from Junee to Wagga Wagga now with accurate as possible gradients and curves. Better at things and running a lot more smoothly than before.
  • Created siding at Shepherd's Siding. No sidings at Harefield or Bomen yet.
  • Laid the platform track and the No.1 road at Wagga Wagga. No turnouts laid yet. Put down a platform to see how things look. Not bad.
  • Ran a test train from Wagga to Junee. Liked what I saw but a lot of work to do to fix everything up properly.
That's the summary so far. No more work today. Other things to do. Ciao...
